More than 1.6 billion people live in the sub-continent of South Asia. There are over 400,000,000 children in India alone. Indian children outnumber the total population of the U.S. by over 100,000,000!

poverty in rural areas and vast urban slums

Many of these people live in extreme poverty, particularly in rural areas and within vast urban slums. Hinduism and Islam are prevalent, and Christianity is in the deep minority. Nevertheless, we see God moving among the people. WorldLead makes a difference by encouraging and equipping men and women on the ground to raise their level of effectiveness as Christian leaders. This relationship is invaluable to the field staff, who need the prayers and support of God’s people to continue their difficult work.

God is at Work

WorldLead has partnered with Awana International to inspire, mentor, and lead national leaders working in South Asian children’s ministry. As of 2013, 8,042 Awana Clubs have been established in South Asia, ministering to 487,418 children weekly. This number is growing stronger daily.

God is opening doors we never imagined

We are seeing families won to Christ. God is opening doors we never imagined as we minister to “the least of these” in the name of Jesus Christ. God is allowing our leaders in South Asia to multiply themselves by mentoring others in their own countries, using principles and skills they have learned as a part of their WorldLead training.
