WorldLead Europe works with Christian leaders in the Eastern Bloc nations of Moldova and Russia.
The tiny nation of Moldova is the poorest country in Europe by GDP. It has suffered under brutal communist rule of both Romania and the Soviet Union. Since the fall of the Iron Curtain in 1991, Moldova has struggled to maintain political independence and economic viability. As a result, Moldova a primary source of human trafficking in Europe.
Russia, well known in political circles, is commonly forgotten in Christian circles. Today, Russia suffers epidemics of alcoholism and HIV. Operation Mobilization, a champion of reaching into forgotten communities, has deployed teams of Russian nationals in various cities. WorldLead partners with the OM team in Siberia. The hardy Siberian people typically require about seven years of contact before warming up to outsiders.
How to Help
In partnership with Operation Mobilization (OM), WorldLead trains and supports eleven European leaders. These young leaders, working with the larger OM Russian and Moldovan teams and with local evangelical churches, reach out nationwide to change and transform lives and communities for Christ. You can help them in their ministry by sending children’s Bibles or sports equipment for their outreach work.
God is at Work
In Europe, OM conducts local outreaches, sports programs, relief, development, HIV ministry, micro-business startup, literature distribution, and bus ministries. In 2012, two teams from WorldLead at Boca Raton Community Church deployed to Eastern Europe on short term mission trips: the student team joined forces with other high school and college groups in OM’s Love Moldova summer ministry program, and the WorldLead training team conducted leadership workshops.
The field is white unto harvest. You can participate in the work in Eastern Europe by praying, working with WorldLead missionaries, or giving financial support. Contact WorldLead for more information about how you can take part in what God is doing in Eastern Europe.
